Birth Doula
nurturing guide for your transition into motherhood
It is an honor to be a part of your birth process. My role is to be a guide for you and your partner through sharing knowledge and community resources. Every pregnancy and birth will be a unique experience. I will hold space and support the choices you have made for your birth and transition into motherhood. This sacred time for you and your family will be embraced with warmth, nourishment, and connection.
What our time together will look like::
After our initial meeting we will have two prenatal visits lasting 1-1.5 hours each either virtually or in person. We will discuss labor positions, comfort measures, and any goals or concerns you may have surrounding your birth. I will support you in creating both a birth and postpartum plan. We can cover thoughts and questions you may have surrounding topics such as the physiological birth process, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
Once a contract is signed I will be available by phone, text, or email for you. I will be on call for your birth from 38 weeks until the delivery. When your labor progresses I will come to your home or birthing location. For either a home or hospital birth I will stay with you through labor and immediately after birth for 1.5-2 hours or more if needed.
In your postpartum I will assist with breastfeeding and share in two visits at your home lasting 1-1.5 hours each. These visits typically take place at week one when you are home and settled to be sure feeding and healing are going well and the second would be around three months postpartum. I will be available through phone, text, and email support until six months postpartum. Although I encourage families to always reach out if they need additional support postpartum or have new questions about growing with their little ones!
